Welcome to the teacher resource page!

I started the lesson with an intro on how to use a camera, as well as the five elements of art.
Both of these websites are great websites for learning how to use any basic camera.

"How to use a camera" resources for teachers.

This website has very basic information, but is easy to understand.http://photo.net/learn/basic-photo-tips/aperture-shutterspeed-iso/

This website is an AWESOME photography resource. It has all kinds of tips for different kinds of photography. It goes into great depth on all different aspects of photography, as well as having awesome examples to show students. The information is well laid out and very detailed. I highly recommend it!! http://digital-photography-school.com/

Websites to find great example photos on:

These websites just have amazing photographs. They provide great graphics to keep it visually interesting to your students, as well as some relevance to other subjects. One of my particular favorites is grin.hq.nasa.gov/ it is a website that offers a ton of NASA photos. They are organized by subject matter and offer a beautiful array of images to show students.

Another great website I found is /http://www.nationalgeographic.com/ This website has TONS of photos. If you're looking for landscape examples, this is the place to be! Even photos for a cultural lesson could be easily found here.

Here are some great teaching tools, in more then just the world of photography. These photos are very memorable and worth showing any student as they are apart of our history. The descriptions and text on this page is useful as well. This website offers a great way to show the students the way photography has impacted our world. http://www.neatorama.com/2007/01/02/13-photographs-that-changed-the-world/

This website has a ton of information, podcasts, and galleries of photos. The entire website is good for any kind of art-example, but for photography this section is great. It includes a biography of the site as well.

Other Photo-oriented Lesson plans:

This is a website I stumbled upon that is set up by Kodak. It has a list of links to teacher's lesson plans that they have used on their students. I thought it was a useful website.

This is another photography lesson plan website. There are some interesting ones on here too. I personally liked the idea of photo scavenger hunts for students.

Useful Photoshop tutorials:

This is the photoshop tutorial page. You can literally learn how to do ANYTHING from these tutorials. It's a good idea to watch a few of them, as students may have tons of questions about this section of the week. Photoshop is a very complex program, and is fun to play with, student and teachers alike!
